Love it!!

We were at Kenner, Louisiana yesterday and Oh my God my husband brought me to this place where I could find a bunch of Filipino foods. Yes, you got that one right. He brought me to the Asian market at Kenner and Oh my!!! they have a big store and a huge selection. Most of the food that I miss are all there and of course I picked out everything that I wanted as what my loving husband told me. This place is 2 hours drive from the house and I don't really blame him if I go shopping all the way..Lol..As you can see in the picture, those are some of the items that we bought .

Wow!!!that's all I can say. The bagoong (fish sauce) that I have been wanting to buy was also there. I can just go shopping there the whole day. Their store is 4 times bigger than the Asian market that we have here in our area and the selection is just exceptional. I hope to go back there next month for another grocery trip and I will make it sure it will last for a month..Lol..

Good evening to all!!!

Dieting

A lot of dietary procedure on how to lose weight and at the same time get a more healthy and rich protein diet has been upgraded. Before when you go on a strict diet. You have to avoid so many fatty food and high calorie food. But today, with frequent studies and consistent research some institutions that helps an individual to lose some weight has come to a more convenient and more stress free program. I have even seen a diet where you can eat an ice cream, chocolates, protein cookies, spaghetti, pizza and more without gaining any weight at all but instead you will lose more weight. That is awesome. This way, many people will be encourage to lose some weight without any hassle but to just enjoy their program in losing weight. I have tried dieting before. And when I say diet, it was a strict diet. My mom even told me that I am killing myself. What I did wrong on that diet was, I wanted a quick result, that is why I was starving myself to death to get the body shape that I want. Yes, I have lose some weight but it wasn't a healthy diet at all. I even got sick. But today, if ever I will go on a diet again, I know what program to use without sacrificing not to eat my favorite food.

Bonding With Hubby

Oh I so love this movie. It is a 3D movie and it was a cute movie perhaps. Hubby and I went to the theater last night before he went back to work and this is what we decided to watch. Actually it was our second choice because originally we are hoping that Avatar is still showing but unfortunately, they took it out already. But we are glad that we went to see this movie because sure enjoyed. After the movie, we had our dinner in our favorite Chinese restaurant, then we head home after we ate. Hubby also bought a card and the dragon character that I like in the movie as my birthday gift..Hehehehe!Loved it!

Leche Flan

This is definitely one of my favorite desert. It is so yummy and very healthy. I have been planning to cook it though but still, nothing has done..LOL.Well hopefully one of this done if I'm not too busy. But anyways here's the ingredients and procedure for this recipe.

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Estimated cooking time: 1 hour

Leche Flan Ingredients:

  • 1 can (390g) evaporated milk

  • 1 can (390g) condensed milk

  • 10 egg yolks

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or lemon essence

For the caramel:

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 3/4 cup water

Leche Flan Cooking Instructions:

  • In a saucepan, mix the sugar & water. Bring to a boil for a few minutes until the sugar caramelize.

  • Pour the caramelized sugar into aluminum moulds - you can use any shape: oval, round or square. Spread the caramel on the bottom of the moulds.

  • Mix well the evaporated milk, condensed milk, egg yolks and vanilla by hand or blender.

  • Gently pour the mixture on top of the caramel on the aluminum moulds. Fill the moulds to about 1 to 1 1/4 inch thick.

  • Cover moulds individually with aluminum foil.

  • Steam for about 20 minutes (the traditional way to make Leche Flan is by open-air steaming on either an open cooking fire or stove top) OR

  • Bake for about 45 minutes. Before baking the Leche Flan, place the moulds on a larger baking pan half filled with very hot water. Pre-heat oven to about 370 degrees before baking.

  • Let cool then refrigerate.

  • To serve: run a thin knife around the edges of the mould to loosen the Leche Flan. Place a platter on top of the mould and quickly turn upside down to position the golden brown caramel on top.

Cooking Tips:

  • You can tell when the Leche Flan is cooked by inserting a knife -if it comes out clean, it is cooked.

Direct TV Everywhere!

Our favorite restaurant is the Peking Garden. It is a one of the Chinese Restaurants here in our area. My husband and I loved dining in this restaurant because their food selection are great and the people are nice. What I also love in the restaurant is their entertainment which is direct tv. It does entertain us and the rest of the people eating there.

Yes, direct tv is not only for household entertainment but also business. If you have an operational business you must acquire for this package. What they've got is the Commercial DIRECT TV, DIRECT TV Business and DIRECT TV for business. To me this is one way of giving entertainment to your clients while they are in your facility. This will give them the true ambiance of your place.

I really salute direct tv for their business. They make everybody's lives more entertaining and happy. I also remember when I was admitted in the hospital to deliver our baby. I still get a hold of my favorite shows and still updated on what's going on. I am truly amazed with their different packages.

Best Steaks

Steak is one of my favorite food. I don't get it much when I was still in the Philippines. If I am not mistaken I think I only ate a few steaks way back home because it is expensive and just can't afford buying it from time to time. When I move here in the United States, I ate it every now and then. I felt lucky and blessed that I get to eat what I have not eaten before. Sound so dramatic but it's the truth. Here's at the house my father in law usually prepares the food and most of time he will cook some steaks for us. He'll buy steaks with a nice cut and juicy meat on it for everyone. He likes doing that and like me he likes to cook. He is the king of the kitchen here in the house. Since he is the one who buys the grocery from time to time. I came across this website that has a huge selection of different kinds of steaks such as USDA prime. Not only that, you will fall in love with the different variety that they have. They have kobe beef, roasts, dessert, never frozen steak and many more. I think you can have everything on this website as I was checking it. For sure dad will love to shop on this website, can't wait to tell him. The nice thing about this website is that, they are not only selling different variety of food but they also have recipes that you can prepare for your family. Amazing! It is like doing a one stop shop.

Hell's Kitchen With Chef Ramsey

Hell's kitchen is the hottest show on television right now. It is not just an entertainment but a competition as well. Many desired chefs gathered on this show to win a quarter of a million and will get to manage one of Chefs Ramsey's restaurant. I like the show so much because of the way Chef Ramsey train those chefs and have them ready to a more realistic world of cooking. If you guys are following the show, you definitely know what I am talking about.

Comfortability

My husband and I love to dine out. We usually go to a Chinese restaurant whenever his home. I am very observant. I observe everything around the restaurant. Food, chandelier, facilities, furniture, restaurant seating and more. To us, it is very important that we are comfortable when we eat. Most of the restaurant we visited, I am very amazed with the ambiance and facilities they have. It feels like home and people there are very accommodating. I begun to wonder where they get all this. Probably in a restaurant seating furniture vendor or on affordableseating.com where you can find a very nice deal of furniture for your restaurant and many more. But I know, most owners of those restaurant do their best and give their excellent customer service no just through their staff but on their stuff as well.

Day with Kids

Today was a great day because I spent most of my time with the kids at the church. We had so much fun and they enjoyed. We made cookies and decorated them. We made cards for their parents and I find it so amazing that they had fun doing this kind of activity. My parents in law were there to help too. Women at the church find it so sweet because the kids made cookies for them. Everyone was just so fascinated of what they did and their parents were so proud of them. I am also proud that I get the chance to work them and had fun with them. Here's some of the pictures I took:
Dellen and I. He is a very sweet little boy. So energetic.Dad and Emma.Decorating the cookies with the kids.

Most Expensive Coffee in the World

The most expensive coffee in the world does not hail from Jamaica or Hawaii, but instead from Indonesia.

Kopi Luwak the most expensive coffee in the world does exist, and those who drink the expensive coffee insist that it is made from coffee beans eaten, partly digested and then excreted by the Common palm civet, a weasel-like animal.

“Kopi” the Indonesian word for coffee along with “luwak” is local name of this animal which eats the raw red coffee beans. The civet digests the soft outer part of the coffee cherry, but does not digest the inner beans and excretes them.

Apparently the internal digestion ends up adds a unique flavor to the beans, removing the bitter flavor, and then beans are then picked up by locals and sold. The most expensive coffee beans can cost up to $600 a pound, and up to $50 per cup, if you can get over the fact that you are drinking such a strange brew.

You would know if you drank the most expensive coffee in the world, because the quantities of it are tiny amounts.
