Still Waiting

Until now I am still waiting for my form 1099. February is almost over and still we haven't filed for our tax. It is pissing me off already on why they are delaying this very important document. Suppose to be they have mailed this earlier but unfortunately, I have not received any document (form 1099) yet. I do hope they will be quick enough to send this document as soon as possible because we need to file our income tax now.

Eyewear

I have an eye wear collection back home ( Philippines) but gave them all to my mom because as to what I love and so she does as well. I started collecting them way back college days and have a bunch of them when I am already working since I can afford more to buy new styles and trendy eye wear in the market. I miss my collection and how I wish I bring them all with me when I moved here in the States. Probably I will start collecting again especially they have more selections over here and I can even buy it online. Awesome!

Killer whale to be spared as ponytail blamed for trainer death

Witnesses described seeing the 30-year-old, 12,300-pound bull orca, named Tilikum, grabbing veteran trainer Dawn Brancheau's long hair in its mouth before dragging her underwater at SeaWorld Orlando in Florida. Chuck Tompkins, head of animal training at all SeaWorld parks, said: "Dawn had just finished up a very good session with this animal. She was interacting with him, petting him on the nose. "Dawn had very long hair in a ponytail. That ponytail had swung in front of him. He grabbed her by the hair and pulled her underwater and held her underwater." Witnesses at an earlier show said that the whale had been behaving like an unruly child but Mr Tompkins dismissed the reports and said he was a "good animal". SeaWorld has temporarily closed its whale attractions but there were reportedly no plans to remove the animal from the show. Tilikum was one of three orcas blamed for the drowning of a previous trainer in Canada in 1991. Eight years later a late night park intruder was found dead in his pool. Brancheau's older sister, Diane Gross, said the trainer, who was married with no children, would not want anything to happen to the whale and the family regarded her death as a tragic accident. "Dawn loved the whales like her children, she loved all of them," her sister said. "They all had personalities, good days and bad days."

Been busy lately. I was trying to clean my closet and sell some of my clothes that I have never used..Lol..Yeah I love to collect clothes but never uses them. I already listed some and I got one bid on one of my clothes already..lol..This is exciting..Hopefully all the clothes I have listed will sell..Hehehehehe..According to hubby, I must get rid some of my stuff that I never really used. Well, I know I loved to keep them but it is really crowding my closet already and since I will never really use some of them,better get rid of some to give me more space. I told hubby that I will sell some of my stuff so that I can buy a new one..Hehehehehe

Monday

I bought another 3 NUK baby bottles today. Also the baby warmer that I bought online had just arrived. I hope this will keep me quicker enough to make my baby's formula..Lol..Everything seems okay today. Didn't really do much around the house. I just went to Walmart to buy some gallons of water for the humidifier. My baby is not coughing that much anymore. It's very seldom now that she cough and I am very happy about it. Hopefully, it will heal totally. Have a good evening everyone!

It's raining Sunday

It is raining right now so I feel a little lazy..Lol..Probably I'm just tired because I cleaned our bedroom yesterday, did our laundry and cleaned our living room. It is always busy in the house everyday. Doing some other household chores and at the same time taking good care of the baby. Wheeewww!!!She just got fed and went back to sleep. Oh I hope she will let me finish what I'm doing..Lol

Doing My Task

The little one is asleep right now and hopefully she will sleep longer so that I can do my thing..LOL..I am currently eating and at the same time I am watching ASAP XV on The Filipino Channel. I missed church today because I was very sleepy and all i just want to do is go back to bed as soon as the little one goes back to sleep. Wheewww!!!My days and night are really mixed up but that's alright I am enjoying every moment I'm with my daughter.

Have you noticed when you are in a crowd, the people are just passing around. They go from this end to that end to the point that the paths are no longer noticeable. I did experience this scene and it really uncomfortable. But with some crowd, like for example in a concert, they have this so called crowd control marshals to maintain the peacefulness in the area. It is very important to avoid injuries and other untoward incidents.

Some will even use stanchions which is very helpful. I think not just in concerts that they use this tools and there are some other tools also. Like in the bank, they have this velvet rope to keep the clients in line. In my thought the purpose of this, is to keep everything fair and to control the crowd. They even use barricades for larger crowd to avoid accidents.

It is really grateful how this tools exist nowadays. It helps a lot in controlling crowded areas. It helps maintain the peaceful in a particular area. It also keeps the crowd safe and away from harm. I do applaud the companies that produces this stuff.

Excited

Hubby just called and they are pulling out and headed to Galveston, Texas. Two weeks from now he'll be off from work..Weeeeeeh.. He gets to talk to our baby on the phone. It was so precious. Our baby is only a month old but she can already respond to any sound she will hear and will try to talk back to you..Hehehehe..I can't wait til she can be able to really talk to us.

Leche Flan

This is definitely one of my favorite desert. It is so yummy and very healthy. I have been planning to cook it though but still, nothing has done..LOL.Well hopefully one of this done if I'm not too busy. But anyways here's the ingredients and procedure for this recipe.

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Estimated cooking time: 1 hour

Leche Flan Ingredients:

• 1 can (390g) evaporated milk

• 1 can (390g) condensed milk

• 10 egg yolks

• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or lemon essence

For the caramel:

• 1 cup sugar

• 3/4 cup water

Leche Flan Cooking Instructions:

• In a saucepan, mix the sugar & water. Bring to a boil for a few minutes until the sugar caramelize.

• Pour the caramelized sugar into aluminum moulds - you can use any shape: oval, round or square. Spread the caramel on the bottom of the moulds.

• Mix well the evaporated milk, condensed milk, egg yolks and vanilla by hand or blender.

• Gently pour the mixture on top of the caramel on the aluminum moulds. Fill the moulds to about 1 to 1 1/4 inch thick.

• Cover moulds individually with aluminum foil.

• Steam for about 20 minutes (the traditional way to make Leche Flan is by open-air steaming on either an open cooking fire or stove top) OR

• Bake for about 45 minutes. Before baking the Leche Flan, place the moulds on a larger baking pan half filled with very hot water. Pre-heat oven to about 370 degrees before baking.

• Let cool then refrigerate.

• To serve: run a thin knife around the edges of the mould to loosen the Leche Flan. Place a platter on top of the mould and quickly turn upside down to position the golden brown caramel on top.

Cooking Tips:

• You can tell when the Leche Flan is cooked by inserting a knife -if it comes out clean, it is cooked.

Calm Friday

The weather was nice today. It was a bit chilly but very comfortable. We even open for a yard sale today. But of course, I can't help that much because I was taking good care of our little one. I could say that mom and dad did a great sales today. Also went to WIC warehouse to pick up my baby's stuff. Well most of my day was spent taking good care of our little but I sure did enjoy. I gave her a bath, my time. I thought it was hard but it's really not. I was just afraid in doing it before because I might hurt her or something like that but this time I did it..Yeah!

Same as usual

As always my day is busy with the baby. I got at least 4 hours of sleep today though and my baby was very calm today unless she's hungry and wet. Right now she's asleep. Oh my baby loves to sleep..lol..I was also able to call medicaid today. The supervisor have said that she already file my one day emergency medicaid and I just have to go down there to apply for our baby's medicaid too. I will be filing for hers tomorrow and hopefully this time we will be approved.

Our favorite restaurant is the Peking Garden. It is a one of the Chinese Restaurants here in our area. My husband and I loved dining in this restaurant because their food selection are great and the people are nice. What I also love in the restaurant is their entertainment which is direct tv. Just an update

I feel tired and sleepy for the past days. I could hardly get a good sleep but that's okay, at least I try get some sleep..LOL..This is what entails of being a mother and I enjoy every second of it. Just seeing my little one smile and doing okay will always make my day. She will be 3 weeks old tomorrow and how is that. Time really fly so fast and before we know she will be walking. My day has gone okay so far. Didn't do much. I'm just updating my blog and later on will be listing some items on Ebay. Well, have to keep busy while the little one is still asleep. Proud Parents

I just want to share the things that our precious little one could as early as 2 weeks old. As I've mentioned, she could roll on her side now and she pretty liked this position. She feels so comfortable when she's lying on her side.

The other thing is she knows how to hold her bottle on her own. We find it so cute and so adorable just looking at her holding her bottle. We can't believe that she can now do this things as early as two weeks old and of course we are very proud parents.

Magnitude-6.0 Quake Off Northern Calif. Coast

A magnitude-6.0 earthquake has struck off the coast of Humboldt County, but officials say there are no immediate reports of major damage or injury.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports that the temblor hit at 12:20 p.m. about 35 miles northwest of the community of Petrolia and nearly 50 miles west of Eureka. The shaking was felt up to the Oregon border and as far south as Sonoma County.

County spokesman Phil Smith-Hanes says he felt a rolling sensation, but the movement didn't feel as severe as the magnitude-6.5 quake that struck the same area Jan. 9. That quake left more than $40 million of damage in the area and caused one major injury.

Eureka Fire Chief Eric Smith says crews are checking on structures damaged in the previous earthquake to make sure they're secure.

Alone Time

Hubby and I got the chance to watch a movie and dine out last a couple of days ago after his Doctor's appointment in Jackson. It was an amazing moment after I gave birth and was so wrapped up with the baby. It was nice to have a break just the two of us alone. We went to a movie theater and watched " The Tooth Fairy" played by "The Rock" Oh it was a funny movie. We were also surprise that it was only the two of us inside the movie theater and told him..Wow! Just exclusive for both of us..LOL..We enjoyed the movie and of course we enjoyed our alone time..Heehehehe! After the movie we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant and had our dinner. It was great day. We were gone for almost 9 hours and of course we miss our precious little and after the dinner we head home right away!

Obesity is becoming a problem to many people nowadays. I was surprised one night when I was watching the news that the state that has the most obese people are in Mississippi. Oh my God I can't believe it. We live in Mississippi and knowing about this news is very alarming and an eye opening. I am not obese and just weighing a normal weight. But what concerns me is my family. They are not obese either but are overweight. I am more concern on my husbands weight and I really wanted him to lose some weight and it was his doctors advice too. He is trying and I know it is not easy for him especially that we are use to eat a lot but with patience and dedication, he will make and I am always here to help and support him all the way. Enable to help, I did some research about the easiest way and the most convenient way to lose weight. What I found is the lap band process. This is the only weight loss surgery that is completely reversible and adjustable. This is interesting. Well to me surgical procedure is always an option if things won't work on your own. Sad

Hubby went back to work today. I am sad and lonely and missing him so bad although it's only 8 plus hours since he left the house. It is so different when hubby is home. I always miss him and always wanted to be together. I am excited for him to come home 28 days from now..Whhewww!!..I will never get to use to this but this is just a sacrifice for both of us for our future. I know he doesn't really want to go back to work yet because he is still enjoying the baby but the call duty has called so he has to go back. I miss you baby ko!

Enjoy The Ride

I am a motorcycle lover. I have been so inclined with this vehicle that I enjoy so much. I can still remember when I was still working before in one of the motorcycle dealers in our area. We use to go to other town and do such marketing activities to promote out product. We do test rides, giving pamphlets, posting stickers, posters and any other marketing materials we have to let people know about our product. I enjoy every marketing activities we have because aside from interacting to different people, I enjoy riding my motorcycle. One thing I don't forget to bring is my Saddlemen to put all the things I needed for our travel and it does fit good on my motorcycle. Oh I so miss those days and hopefully I'll get to do it again one day.

My baby's growth and development

I want to share my baby's development. She is 13 days old now and growing. My husband and I were very surprise on her growth and development. On her first week, she was able to lift her head by herself. We are so impressed and proud parents because our child has a fast growth and development. On her second week, she starts rolling on her side already. Oh I am so proud of my baby. I can also see that she is gaining weight because she is getting heavier whenever I am holding her. I am just worried though because we just started giving her some formula milk aside from breastfeeding as a supplement to give her enough milk. Doing so had her having a hard time pooping. Oh I hope my baby's bowel movement goes back to normal and hopefully her digestive system will get use to formula already.
