It's back

Hey Hey people. Football season is here once again. Wow!!! I bet football fans are really looking forward to this season. Well probably I will enjoy more in watching football game this season because I can understand the basic of football now..LOL..I think last night was the opening of the NFL season and once again the New Orleans Saints defeats the Minnesota Vikings. This is a good start and hopefully they will still defend their title as the super bowl champion last year. Looking forward for the super bowl next year.

Oil rig explosion: Is oil leaking from Mariner Energy rig near Vermillion Bay?

An oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico Thursday morning forced all 13 crew members to evacuate into the water.

Company officials said in a statement Thursday morning that the incident does not appear to have resulted in an oil leak. The Associated Press, however, has reported that the Coast Guard says there is a mile long, 100 foot-wide oil sheen near the platform.

The fire occurred on a platform about 100 miles south of Louisiana’s Vermillion Bay and west of the site of the Deepwater Horizon accident. The rig is in 320 feet of water, much shallower than the mile-deep well operated by BP that caused a massive oil spill this summer.

The shallower water would make an attempt to plug any leak significantly easier.

The Coast Guard dispatched helicopters, airplanes, and four cutters to the scene. The crew members had evacuated the rig in immersion suits and were picked up in the water by an oil service boat. The company says no injuries have been reported.

The facility, Vermillion Block 380, is owned by Mariner Energy Inc., an independent oil and gas exploration, development, and production company based in Houston. The company holds 350 offshore exploration leases, with 110 currently in development, according to the company’s website.

The platform collected production from seven wells producing about 1,400 barrels of oil per day and 9 million cubic feet of gas. Production was shut down, the company said, before the crew evacuated.

We were at Kenner, Louisiana yesterday and Oh my God my husband brought me to this place where I could find a bunch of Filipino foods. Yes, you got that one right. He brought me to the Asian market at Kenner and Oh my!!! they have a big store and a huge selection. Most of the food that I miss are all there and of course I picked out everything that I wanted as what my loving husband told me. This place is 2 hours drive from the house and I don't really blame him if I go shopping all the way..Lol..As you can see in the picture, those are some of the items that we bought .

Wow!!!that's all I can say. The bagoong (fish sauce) that I have been wanting to buy was also there. I can just go shopping there the whole day. Their store is 4 times bigger than the Asian market that we have here in our area and the selection is just exceptional. I hope to go back there next month for another grocery trip and I will make it sure it will last for a month..Lol..

My Snuggles

Watching her growth and development everyday is an awesome feeling. I cannot explain how happy I am watching our daughter grow. I am so proud of her for all the things she could be able to do now. Sometimes it is very tiring but the moment your precious little one smile at you, it is a heavenly feeling that is so priceless. She practice crawling now and trying to seat. She is still having a hard time on that and always wind up bumping her head but I know she will make. She always has this attitude of figuring things out first before making another action. She also loves to talk now. Gosh it is so noisy in our house everyday. Although her language doens't have vowels yet but I am proud to say she is on the right path for a child's development. She also loves playing on the floor. She could play for hours. Roll over, scoot, giggle and so much more. I love watching her and I really am a proud Mommy. We love you snuggles.

Coins In The Mail Today

Guess what's in the mail today, it is the 2 US dollar coins that we bought from the Philippines and they were fake. We thought they were silver but they are not. We sent them back 7 months ago but my mother didn't bother to claim it in the post office so now it is returned to us. Hopefully this is not a bad timing for her as the pageant takes place tomorrow in Las Vegas. Sell...Sell..Sell

3 weeks ago we tried selling some silver coins and proof sets at the auction house. We were not really expecting a good output but we were very surprise. Because silver coins and proof sets has definite prices, we then set our maximum price each item. We are grateful that bidders at the auction house still wants the item on the set price. So my husband and I has decided that we must start collecting or buy different proof sets to sell again at the auction. So far we ordered some and hopefully we will do good this round. If this will work thoroughly, we might do this every month as an additional income.

Our Princess

She will be 7 months old tomorrow. Wow! 7 months has gone way too fast. I can't believe she is growing like a weed. She is now starting to crawl but mostly scooting. It is so cute just to look at her on what she's doing. She does funny things everyday and it really brightens my day. She talk to herself like an old lady..Lol..She just enjoy what she do everyday. Shopping Galore

This must be most of the women's favorite shopping. Everybody would just love to go to the mall and shop for something for themselves. Honestly, on my part I do not shop a lot. To me it is tiring. LoL. I just go out and buy whenever I'm low on something ( grocery wise). But I do love going to garage sale because they are cheap. Well to me I consider it shopping to because you purchased something and you get goods in return. Nowadays, you can just shop for everything. To the most expensive to the most cheapest items. Also, the nice thing about our technology today is you can shop online. Yes, just one click on your fingertips and it is done. Wait for it on the mailbox and shopping is done. A home body person like do this most of the time. Lol but shopping truly is fun sometimes. Recently, I have purchased a pair of steel toe rubber shoes and a big bag for hubby because he needs a new one. Those are the things that I go and shop for. If it's needed I'll go out and buy it. I also do some research first on where to buy the cheapest item I need. If I can get cheaper online than going to a mall. I will definitely buy it online. saves me gas and time right.

Just out of curiosity I did research the history of shopping and heres what I've found:

In ancient times, there was no money. People bartered or traded goods, that they had produced themselves. The first money was used over 2000 years ago.

Fairs and markets were in operation from early times. People would shop for goods at a weekly market in nearby towns. Then shops began to be permanently established. Shops were specialised, e.g. a bakery, a butchery, a grocer. Then supermarkets appeared.

There have been three major phases in the shopping / trading world in the last 100 years. In a way, these link up into a full circle.

1. Customers would be served by the shopkeeper, who would retrieve all the good on their shopping list. Shops would often deliver the goods to the customers' homes.

2. Customers have to select goods, retrieve them off the shelves using self service, and even pack their own goods. Customers deliver their own goods.

3. Customers select goods via the internet. The goods are delivered to their homes as in phase one!

Thank God It's Firday Origin

I was watching a program one day and they were talking about "THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY" they were curious on where the phrase comes from. I thought about it. I was like, exactly, I have been hearing this phrase and it was even named after by a restaurant but never really clear where and how was it formed. My brain kicked in and by my curiosity I did little research and this is what I've found.

Starting in the United States, it has become a common expression of relief at the end of the work week and anticipation of relaxing or partying over the weekend. The term was originated by the Akron, Ohio disk jockey Jerry Healy on radio station WAKR in the early 1970s. The phrase was further popularized by the 1978 movie starring Donna Summer, Thank God It’s Friday. The phrase has also become common for advertising and promotional materials. On college campuses beginning in the 1970s, the phrase (sometimes shortened to "TG") became associated with Friday afternoon beer parties, usually held outdoors.

Now we sure know where the word came from. Nowadays, the word is used by most people. Employees, students and many more.

Gift

It was a great service today at the church. Our preacher still teaches God's abundance and we are on part 4 now. Nothing really beats God's word and I feel great to be in his house. I also received a gift today from my secret pal. This is from our womens ministry at the church and we have our own secret pal. Today she gave me a book which is very interesting to read. I feel like my body was used as a punching bag..Ouch!!. Yes I have been having body aches last night and this is probably from working so hard yesterday. Then today we have to clean out dad's storage unit. Have to load and unload some container and that is very tiring. I am so tired and tomorrow we still have a cleaning job to do.. Wheeww!! Hope after this assigned job I can get a relaxing moment back. Hubby is going back to work tomorrow too. So I am all by myself again. We did not get to spend much this when his home because there was a bunch of stuff his dad for him. I think we spend more time working rather than having our alone time. Just tonight it is suppose to be our time before he goes back to work but we have to continue loading and unloading some stuff from the storage unit. Oh well, nothings really new. We did go out for a dinner though but that's just it. Hopefully they will just leave him a alone when his home. Just venting guys.

Soooooo Tired

We really had a busy day today. We helped our neighbor cleaned a house that was burned and we did pretty good. There are bunch of stuff that can still be used and can be sell. We had worked for almost half a day and we are really tired. It fun to help although it is tiring but everything we dig and what we got from that house was given to us. Awesome! My baby is now a captain...Alright!

Like my baby have said, after 3 1/2 years, it is now official that he is a captain. He received his captains license in the mail today. I am so happy for him. I know he has been waiting for this for a very long time and at last here it is. I am so proud of him. He work so hard to achieve his goal in his career and finally it is all in his hand. Our little one is now 6 months old

The little one just turned 6 months old last Saturday. Wow!!time truly fly so fast. It's like I just give birth to her yesterday. She is growing like a weed and she is becoming funny everyday. She does play all time and she really enjoy it. We are just glad that our daughter is a happy baby all the time. Daddy and Mommy are very proud.

She is wonderful

My father in laws eldest sister passed away this morning, bless her heart. She has been fighting with cancer for the last couple of year and now the God Lord has finally decided it's her time. She is a wonderful woman and she will be missed. The pain is still fresh when my dad passed away more than a month ago too. My sympathy is to the family because I exactly know the feeling of losing someone you love.

All About Planters

During summer, indoor planters and outdoor planters are everywhere. I do not know why we can only plant flowers during the summer but I think it is quite obvious that a plant won't make it through during cold season. A friend of mine use to tell me that I have a green thumb. Sometimes I believe it and sometimes not. Maybe because not all the time I grow a plant so well.

I do love gardening. It is a way to ease my boredom especially when I am totally doing nothing at home. Most of the time I grew up outdoor planter. They pretty and beautiful and very heart warming when you them grow perfectly. It is like, the hard work you have invested is all worth when you see you finish product in the long run.

I am still amazed how plants can do something into ones lives. Indoor planter is also good for the house because it produces some oxygen inside the house. It also add something to your decoration around the house. It can also produce a very heart warming vibe. And having plants around makes you feel like you are close to nature.

Eclipse Movie

I am so looking forward to watch the "eclipse" movie. I have read partly of the book but I want to see the move now..Lol..Unfortunately, it is not yet showing in our area so I just have to wait. I just hope it won't be long til it's showing. I am very curious now on what the movie is like, so I cannot wait. Ciao!!!

Bad Dream

I had a bad dream last night it feels so true. I was even crying when I woke up from that dream. The dream was very personal, so I will not sat anything about it no more. I know it is just a dream and will never come true especially it was really a bad one.

Mailboxes

Way back in the Philippines, we hardly get a mail not unless you are one of the business establishment that gets mails a day. But even them, they do not have mail boxes in their vicinity. What they normally do is they will deliver the mail door to door. When I got her in the states, I was surprise with the mails we get every. It's a ton and most of them are junk.

But as I have notice in my residency here. Every household has Residential Mailboxes. The USPS would normally drop all the mails in the mailbox. In here it is not uncommon to receive mails everyday. They are junk mails, bills and just everything they could send to your residence. Most of the business here has Commercial Mailboxes too.

I think it is really required to have your own mailbox here in the states. I guess it's in their law and a must to put a mailbox right in front of your house. We do have one and I think it is of best quality mailbox my father in law had ever purchased. I sell some stuff online and when I shipped the sold items I can just toss them inside the mailbox. I like it because it huge.

Quite Busy

Had quite a busy day today. Went out and run some errands but I'm glad I'm home. I am a little bit tired but I am okay. It is so hot outside. I guess it is 94 degrees in there but all in all my day is doing good so far. Hubby just left a message on facebook that he doesn't know the crew change would but hopefully within this week. Can't wait to see hubby, I miss him so much. Hope you guys are having a great Tuesday morning.

I am missing the Philippines a lot since we got back from our trip. My husband and I together with our daughter has really experience the alone time when we were there. Hot and humid

It was very hot and humid outside. Could hardly stay for a long time. But still I did because I had to run some errands. Good thing I'm done and home now and playing with my daughter. Death is very unpredictable. It comes unexpectedly and very silent. Unless you have illness which a doctor can say that you only have this amount of time to live. But nobody really knows when his / her time, only God can tell when. My dad past away last month and that was a very sad moment. It was unpredictable, it was an expected, everybody was shocked and can't believe that his already gone.

My dad is a cop and most cop has funeral insurance and term life insurance. He has been paying this while he was working and immediately taken out from his paycheck. Hopefully, he will do his best to fight the corruption in the Philippines and hopefully is cabinet will work as a team for the betterment of the country.
